There are no known interactions between omega 3 fatty acids and vitamins or minerals. Also, there are no known interactions between omega 3 and drugs. However, if you are taking any drugs, I recommend you ask your physician on your next visit.
If you are thinking about taking omega 3 supplements, it would be a good idea to ensure a sufficient intake of vitamin E. Most manufactures already add vitamin E to their products, so there is no need for additional vitamin E supplements.
Also, be aware that cod liver oil and fish oil is not the same. Cod liver oil is an excellent source of vitamins A and D, but contains only little amounts of vitamins EPA and DHA. Fish oils are extracted from the tissues of cold water fish like salmon, mackerel and herring. They are a great sources of the essential omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, but contain only little amounts of vitamins A and D.
