    Omega 3 Oils For Acne Treatment





    Studies have shown that a lack in omega 3 fatty acids can cause the following skin-related problems:

    * Skin eruptions that won’t heal
    * Inflammatory disorders
    * Skin problems
    * Increased sebum production causing acne

    In order to avoid skin problems or to deal with already existing skin problems like acne, a well balanced diet with a sufficient amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as omega 3 is recommended.

    Equally important are omega 6 fatty acids, which can be found in pistachio nuts, olives, sunflower seeds, evening primrose oil… However, typical western diet is usually too rich in omega 6 fatty acids and rather lacks in high quality omega 3 fatty acids, so you should preferably focus on increasing your omega 3 intake.

    The best sources for omega 3 are cold water fish - mackerel, herring, salmon and tuna and flax seed oil. Try to have fish at least twice a weak, you can also add flax seed oil to your salad, soup, morning cereals… or other dishes. If you prefer, you can also supplement your diet with omega 3 fish oil capsules.
